Tioman Island - Day 1

Joined darling's company trip to Tioman Island for 3 days 2 nites on 29/09/2006 with the total of 80 persons (included of darling's company foreign workers). The journey started at 0930 whereas everybody gathered at a Petronas station located at Taman Pelangi Indah. It took about 1 hour 30 minutes to reach at Mersing port. From the port, we took a ferry and reached at our destination, Paya Beach Resort at around 1330. How I wish we can be there in the faster time as no entrtainment at all inside the ferry and it was bored & sleepy.

I heard that is a legend about the island of Tioman was formed when a magical dragon princess, flying from China to join her beloved prince in Singapore, became so enchanted with the warm clear crystal waters that she decided to discontinue her journey and formed into the beautiful dragon- shaped island to provide shelter and comfort for weary travelers. What a romantic legend...!!

After checked-in to individual's room, I was so excited as my room was just in front of the beach. It was so calm and relaxing to be hearing with the sound of waves especially during night time.

At 1500, darling's colleague Wong suggested to go for snorkelling among ourselves. Without saying a word, 20 of us rented the equipments (goggles, flippers & breathers) by paying RM22 and started our first day activity- snorkelling at the beach nearby our resort. Wow....the corals are big and beautiful like a flower while fishes are so cute and colourful. I was hoping desparately that can dive deep into the sea to have nearest touch with them. As time past by, darling & I started to feel tired and decided to go back to our resort. As we swam near to the beach, a RM50 note just floated in front of me. Yeah, yeah....it my luck day!!! haha......

After taking rest for an hour, time shown 1900 and we had our early dinner (buffet style) at the resort. I guess it was not early enough as when were got there, all the foreign workers were already in a long Q. No much food was left till our turn as the refill service by the resort was not efficient. Therefore, we had no choice but to take whatever left for us.

After dinner, darling & I went for a night walk at the shops along the beachside and of course with his colleagues. The colleagues bought some birs, cracker and started their night activity - gambling. No other words but 'gamblle' can be described about Chinese. Darling neither lost the game nor won the game as I told him that I am sleepy but eventually is an excuse to get him 'back-off' from loosing the game. Guess he wouldn't know that is my trick against him.
